However, not all patients with exposed dentin shows pain stimuli, due to their natural defense systems.\n\nCases in which dentin is exposed:\n<ul>\n\t<li>Dental cavities;<\/li>\n\t<li>Tooth damage with enamel damage (erosions, abrasions, dental\u00a0wear);<\/li>\n\t<li>Dentine trauma with exposure;<\/li>\n\t<li>Periodontal disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nThe first phase of<strong> treatment<\/strong> consists of establishing a differential diagnosis.
