Bruxism is a masticatory automatism characterized by the grinding or clenching of the teeth.
As a result of bruxism the following may appear:
- Dental wear;
- Occlusal trauma with bone loss or condensation (exostosis);
- Sensitive teeth;
- Pulp and pulp necrosis;
- Fractures of teeth;
- Muscle damage;
- Damage to the temporomandibular joints.
Treatment:
Hospitalization, nocturnal mouth guards designed to prevent bruxism, treatment of complications depending on the case.
